Perrin - 2014 

This was the first portrait of colored pencil I finally felt looked like I wanted. Realism. I entered it in a contest but didn't win. 

I practice more with shadows and skin by coloring an old graphite work I had in my sketchbook.  2014

2014, I worked on a piece for my son .I used mineral spirits for the first time for blending. 

My first portrait with pencils. I wasn't happy with the result. I stopped right where you see it. It wasn't even close to finished but I didn't like my proportions and left it.  11/2013

Oct 2013, my first colored pencil attempt from a book tutorial  Drawn in my car during a birthday party at Laser tag.

Graphite, Courtney and Baxter. 

In 2011 I started to play with Copic markers to draw. I wasn't very good with perspective and knew I needed a lot of work. I practiced daily. 

Studied a lot of tutorials on Youtube and started to see my work take shape. 

2012 I really spent a lot of time with portraits. Studying features and shading. I thought I was doing amazingly well.  Copic Markers were hard to use and I thought I'd try colored pencil.
